The 9th annual Inter-House Sports competition themed “Promoting Academic Excellence through Sports” was held on Saturday, February 4, 2017 at the Sports Ground of the school.
Four houses namely: Emerald, Ruby, Sapphire and Topaz were involved in the various categories of the competitions. We also had nine invited schools that graced the memorable occasion.
The event kicked off with the National and School Anthem led by the school band. The lighting of the torch was done by the sports prefects Master Kenechukwu Udeagbala and Miss Boluwaduro Kareem.
The houses showcased various colourful displays and salutations during the March Past. They were inspected by the Chairman of the Occasion, the Special Guest of Honour, our Managing Director and the Executive Director.
One of the highpoint of the event was the soccer match between Sapphire House and Emerald House. It was kicked off with a shot from the Executive Director, Princess Mrs. Elfrida Omole. The match ended in a penalty shootout worn by Sapphire House with a score of 4-2.
Other activities that took place were 100m races by the students, Staff and Parents; and invitation relay race by the invited schools.
There were other activities carried out prior to the day including Shot Put, Discus, Javelin, Long & Short Jumps, Table Tennis, Chess, Scrabble and 200m, 400m, 800m and 1500m races
After collation of results of all the activities, Emerald House emerged the winner of the competition with Topaz House as the first runner up. Ruby and Sapphire houses came third and fourth respectively.
We had in our midst Mr. Omehefe Ezekiel Okah as the Chairman of the occasion, Elder Chukwumaobi Ndah as the Special Guest of Honour, our esteemed Parents and well-wishers.
